2010 Foodservice Chef Grape Recipe Contest

Grapes, glorious grapes! Grapes from California are back in season and ready to star in an array of culinary creations. The growers of Grapes from California are challenging foodservice chefs to create the best grape recipes ever. The top winners – three in all - will each receive cash prizes and national publicity for their winning recipe.

 

Suggested categories include starters, small plates, entrees, salads, sides and desserts but any and all culinary inspirations are welcome.

 

Prizes: $1500 (First Place); $1000 (Second Place) and $500 (Third Place).

Rockefeller Center Monday, June 14, 2010: Some of New York’s most noted cooks—Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Jonathan Waxman, and Larry Forgione among them—participated in this fund-raiser by dishing up an enormous spread last year. The event raised approximately $735,000 in 2009, and returns to Rockefeller Center on June 14.

In its second year the four-day festival broadened its scope to attract more than 40,000 attendees to 120 separate events. Stars from title sponsor the Food Network—like Paula Deen, Guy Fieri, and Giada De Laurentiis—headlined many of the bigger parties. The next run is slated for October 8 to 11.
